Invest For Society helps orphans’ projects with The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
TO PROTECT AND PRESERVE WILDLIFE AND HABITATS IN KENYA, FOR THE BETTERMENT OF ALL SPECIES.
The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is a not-for-profit and one of East Africa’s oldest and pioneering conservation organisations that has worked for the protection and conservation of wildlife and wild habitats in Kenya for over 40 years.
THREATS FACING WILDLIFE
Africa’s wildlife is being pushed to the brink of extinction. The illegal trade in ivory kills up to 55 elephants a day while
illegal logging, charcoal production, deforestation, infrastructure and development destroys habitats, leaving critical
ecosystems hanging in the balance. As habitats shrink, wild animals come into closer contact with humans, leading to
increased incidents of human-wildlife conflict.
At the heart of the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s conservation activities is the Orphans’ Project, which has achieved world-wide acclaim through its
hugely successful elephant and rhino rescue and rehabilitation program.
