Invest For Society fights hunger in the world

ShareTheMeal is an initiative of the World Food Program (WFP) of the United Nations, the largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger.

WFP distributes food aid to over 86 million people in approximately 83 countries each year. WFP is funded 100% on a voluntary basis, so every donation counts. WFP’s administrative costs are among the lowest in the nonprofit sector, with 90% of donations directly funding WFP’s operations to build a world without hunger.

Donations to ShareTheMeal support various WFP operations, from building resilience to school meal programs to provide food aid in emergencies. Since the launch of the app in 2015, we have provided assistance to some of the biggest food crises in the world including Yemen, Syria and Nigeria.

 Why hunger?

Today, there are 821 million hungry people worldwide. This means that one in nine people do not receive enough food to lead an active and healthy life. Hunger and malnutrition are the first health risk, before AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined. The good news is that it can be eradicated: feeding a child for a day costs only € 0.40

Thanks to Invest For Society, you too can share meals with families in a food crisis.

You can view and track the performance of Invest For Society via the hashtag #invest4society in the ShareTheMeal Community Space.
